Another New E-press Opens its Doors

In the past week a friend of mine has started the first e-press in Ireland. I am so excited for her, and for me as well since she will soon be publishing my back list. Kemberlee Shortland and her husband Peter Shortland have both the skills and the business sense for an endeavor such as Tirgearr Publishing. I know them as very honest, forthright people who will offer a fair deal and keep their end of the bargain. Kem herself is an excellent writer, as well as an expert editor. Check out her webpage, http://www.tirgearrpublishing.com.

Here's what The London Book Fair had to say about Tirgearr Publishing:

An independent publisher is set to become Ireland’s first exclusively digital publisher on Leap day (February 29th) when it debuts.
Tirgearr Publishing recently revealed it was doing away with literary agents to give authors the opportunity to submit their work without the need for a middle-man.
Based in Kildare, the publisher will received unsolicited manuscripts between March 1st and 10th, with a specific focus on adult genre fiction.
Tirgearr is accepting manuscripts from a wide scope of word counts, from short stories for a suggested retail price (srp) of $1.99, to novels of more than 95,000 words for an srp upwards of $4.99.
A statement from the publisher suggested it was preparing to capitalise on the “rapidly growing interest in digital books, fuelled by the popularity for affordable reading devices”.
Since the beginning of 2012, Tirgearr has published five titles by award-winning authors, including Man City by C Margery Kempe and The Trouble with French Kisses by Kristi Ahlers.

  2. Wow, Char! That's a really nice thing of you to say. I'm really blushing here!!

I've really loved your work since day one, and I'm really very honored you have so much faith in us and Tirgearr Publishing to want to see your backlist published with us.

I can't tell you how excited we are to see your own writing career getting back on track, too.
